## Apps and community

- [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/id572953702): 3.7 / 5 (721 ratings, 31 Oct 2026)
- [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.astrill.astrillvpn): 2.8 / 5 (7780 ratings, 31 Oct 2026)
- [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/astrill.com): 1.3 / 5 (110 ratings, 31 Oct 2026)

## What users report

Ratings on platforms are not representative and sometimes manipulated; they never count as evidence for facts. People mostly write when something goes wrong: hardly anyone posts “KYC was easy and worked right away”, but ten users with verification problems do, often because a step was missed. So we never weigh criticism on its own, only against other offers in the same category. Only the average ratings on App Store, Google Play and Trustpilot count towards our score, damped and compared within the category. Single reports and community posts do not, so the score cannot be swayed by bought reviews.

- App Store: 3.7 / 5 (721 ratings, 2026-10-31)
- Google Play: 2.8 / 5 (7780 ratings, 2026-10-31)
- Trustpilot: 1.3 / 5 (110 ratings, 2026-10-31)

- App Store · 5 of 5 stars · 8 Oct 2026: „…Astrill is the most expensive app for access to the free and uncensored internet. But it is consistent and lasts even through the more restrictive times of year in China - during political meetings, sensitive dates and holidays. Clunky, old, rarely updated, but reliable.“ [Read on App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id572953702?see-all=reviews)
- App Store · 4 of 5 stars · 5 Oct 2026: „…This app works for me most of the time. There are some inconveniences when I can’t get it to work at all. During October, I feel like it’s really inconsistent but I chalk that up to gvt crack downs during sensitive meeting periods. I’ve tried a lot of apps, this onehas been the best option for 5 years.“ [Read on App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id572953702?see-all=reviews)
- Trustpilot · 1 of 5 stars · 21 Sep 2026: „Do not use Do not use. Currently almost impossible to use on MacOS devices. Need to try 30-40 servers before I get a connection which then drops within 5 minutes. I have been a customer since 2019 and it used to work well but since 2025 and especially now in Sep 2026 the VPN service is so bad you'll be tearing your hair out.“ [Read on Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6ab14530a1826e842b1220eb)
- App Store · 5 of 5 stars · 30 Aug 2026: „…I am using it for a vacation in China (Guangdong Province) and so far it has worked fine every day consistently. Even watching Netflix is fine without loss of resolution or frame drops (on an IPad).…“ [Read on App Store](https://apps.apple.com/de/app/id572953702?see-all=reviews)
- Trustpilot · 1 of 5 stars · 30 Jul 2026: „…Speeds were consistently 0–1 Mbps with up to 75% packet loss. I requested a refund immediately, but customer service refused. After I asked for a refund, Astrill actually blocked my account so I could no longer log in — this is outright theft.“ [Read on Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6a6b332cb08ac1e100a43fb4)
