## What users report

Ratings on platforms are not representative and sometimes manipulated; they never count as evidence for facts. People mostly write when something goes wrong: hardly anyone posts “KYC was easy and worked right away”, but ten users with verification problems do, often because a step was missed. So we never weigh criticism on its own, only against other offers in the same category. Only the average ratings on App Store, Google Play and Trustpilot count towards our score, damped and compared within the category. Single reports and community posts do not, so the score cannot be swayed by bought reviews.

- App Store: 4 / 5 (744 ratings, 2026-11-01)
- Google Play: 3 / 5 (12100 ratings, 2026-11-01)
- Trustpilot: 4.1 / 5 (2438 ratings, 2026-11-01)

- Trustpilot · 5 of 5 stars · 9 Oct 2026: „…Windscribe Free wouldn't let me watch ITV player in Germany; Privado did. Windscribe Free wouldn't let me torrent; Privado Free worked no problem. Minor buffering on streaming, but torrenting was speedy.…“ [Read on Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6ac9326c5b8edd2eb1aa50e8)
- Google Play · 1 of 5 stars · 9 Oct 2026: „…Now, it's time to renew and there is no way to actually pay. I can't update card info. I can't add a card. The entire payment section won't open, in the app or on their site. Customer service is not helping.“ [Read on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.privado.android&gl=us&hl=en&reviewId=36c437e4-90b7-45ab-8cab-983d5c06e483)
- App Store · 3 of 5 stars · 17 Sep 2026: „Delayed Connections Overall the sale price was much lower than competitors. Achieving a connection takes time. Doesn’t connect automatically without delays. Locked out of sites like YouTube when using the two functioning protocols, OpenVPN and IKEv2, both of which usually interact with most websites consistently. Customer service is responsive. The interface is intuitive.“ [Read on App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1498920805?see-all=reviews)
- Trustpilot · 5 of 5 stars · 27 Aug 2026: „…Although the free plan has a limited data allowance, users still have access to a wide range of servers. I would appreciate it if the data limit were increased, perhaps to 20 GB, as the current allowance can run out quite quickly. … The customer service is also excellent. They were very helpful in resolving my issue and took the time to understand my concerns.…“ [Read on Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6a9033aa734ab1a82881fee8)
- Google Play · 4 of 5 stars · 24 Jul 2026: „Good VPN so far, but app needs polishing. The price is excellent, however I am missing one feature from previous providers, which is the ability to disable the VPN when on mobile data automatically via the app.“ [Read on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.privado.android&gl=us&hl=en&reviewId=e02158ba-d1f4-4d04-8eab-f192aad566a0)
- Trustpilot · 1 of 5 stars · 30 May 2026: „…the bad point, when your plan nearly outdate, you will get email and warning your account will stop working if without renew plan. (meaning you can not use same account to use free plan) and they stop my account before the plan actually…“ [Read on Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6a1b2c143bdbfe7205d17d75)
