BolehVPN is a VPN service run by BV Internet Services Limited that accepts cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Monero, Dash, Firo (formerly Zcoin) and Zcash; Bitcoin can also be paid directly to a wallet address. The standard package costs 9.99 USD for 30 days or 79.99 USD for 365 days, and a cheaper "Malaysian IP ONLY" package is also sold. There is no free plan, but new users can get a free trial.
The service is based on OpenVPN and supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android and routers, with up to 3 simultaneous connections per account. BolehVPN has its own Android app and a proprietary macOS GUI; on other platforms, standard OpenVPN clients are used. The apps are not open source. Servers are located in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US. Cloak (obfuscated) configurations are intended for strict firewalls such as those in China and Iran, and P2P is allowed.
On logging, the privacy policy states: "We do not keep logs of user activity, including user access, DNS requests, timestamps, bandwidth usage, or IP addresses." The provider also says it monitors overall server traffic and connection counts. This no-logs claim has not been independently audited, and BolehVPN does not say its servers are RAM-only. Signing up requires an e-mail address and a username, and the customer database stores your e-mail, order date and payment method.
You can request a refund within 14 days for full packages. Payments made in cryptocurrency are generally not refunded, though BolehVPN says it may consider them case by case. Support is by e-mail.
