CactusVPN is a paid VPN service that accepts Bitcoin and several altcoins (Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, DigiByte, Siacoin, Bytecoin) next to credit cards, PayPal and local methods such as Alipay, iDEAL or Sofort. There is no free plan and no free trial; instead CactusVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Important for crypto users: the terms exclude refunds for payments made with cryptocurrency.
Prices. The annual plan costs 70.00 USD; the lowest monthly equivalent is 3.96 USD on the plan billed every two years. Separately, CactusVPN sells "Professional" plans for licensed professionals: Solo Practice at unknown per month, with Partner and Group Practice tiers at higher monthly rates. Dedicated IPs are not offered — IP addresses are static and shared.
Network and apps. 39 servers across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Own apps for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Android TV and Fire TV plus Chrome and Firefox extensions; the apps are not open source. Protocols include WireGuard, OpenVPN (TCP and UDP) and IKEv2, alongside SSTP, SoftEther, L2TP/IPSec and PPTP. The apps have a kill switch, split tunneling and DNS leak protection; obfsproxy obfuscation and VPN over ICMP/DNS are marketed for restricted networks. Torrenting is allowed.
Privacy. The terms state: "CactusVPN enforces a strict no-logs policy. We do not store or log activity data, IP addresses, traffic logs, timestamps, bandwidth usage, or session durations." Securitum audited the no-logs claim. Registration requires an email address; billing details are stored, and the terms note that "some non-personal data may be collected for fraud prevention (e.g., last login IP)". Retention periods for account and payment data are not published. The servers are not advertised as RAM-only, and there is no public real-world case proving the no-logs claim.
Support runs through a ticket system.

Why not a "free trial"? Because the 30-day money-back guarantee is a better deal. You get full access for 30 days, not a limited trial; if you're not satisfied, you get a real refund.
