There is no free plan, but a free trial is offered, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. The refund conditions are narrow: a refund applies only if the VPN cannot be connected at all, only for the first order, and only for Windows, macOS and Linux users.
Privacy: the Terms of Service state: "HideIPVPN keeps a no-logs policy, this means that activity whilst using VPN is not being stored nor shared in any form. Only data stored is client's full name and billing activity." Signup asks for an email address. The no-logs claim has not been independently audited, and HideIPVPN does not state that it runs RAM-only servers. The apps are not open source.
