IVPN is a VPN service that accepts Bitcoin (including Lightning) and Monero, next to credit card, PayPal and cash. Sign-up asks for no personal information such as an email address or name; the account can be paid for anonymously.
Plans. IVPN sells three tiers – Standard, Plus and Pro Suite – each billed per week, month or year. Standard and Plus cover the same number of devices; Pro Suite covers more. There is no free trial; IVPN points to its paid one-week plan for testing instead. A refund window of 30 days applies once per account and customer; cash and voucher payments are not refundable, and Bitcoin or Monero refunds go to a wallet address.
Logging. The privacy policy states: "We do not log any data relating to a user's VPN activity (while connected or connecting to the VPN)" – no traffic, connection timestamps, DNS requests, bandwidth or customer IP addresses. Payment references (e.g. a PayPal or BTCPay transaction ID) can be linked to the account; after an account ends, its data is deleted after 90 days and the remaining accounting data is no longer linked to an account ID. The mobile apps collect anonymised crash data by default. IVPN publishes a transparency report on legal requests and a warrant canary, and has commissioned annual security audits from Cure53.
Technology. WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPSec/IKEv2; open-source apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, plus router support. Features include a kill switch, split tunnelling, multi-hop, a DNS-based AntiTracker, DNS and IPv6 leak protection and V2Ray/obfs4 obfuscation for networks that block VPNs (no connectivity guarantee). P2P is allowed, though IVPN asks users to avoid US servers for it. Servers are rented bare-metal machines; RAM-only operation runs only on a few pilot gateways. Dedicated IP addresses are not offered.
